We’d love to have the opportunity to partner with your family! We desire to join the love of the family with the light of the church to create families that seek after Jesus. Our trained and dedicated leaders desire to build meaningful relationships with you and your child in order to partner with you as you lay a foundation for your child’s decision to follow Jesus.
The goal is Win Downriver to Christ by creating kids who become:
Committed – Kids worship in a high energy environment, and learn God’s Word in understandable and interesting ways.
Connected – Kids connect in smaller groups with other kids to talk about what they’re learning.
Contributing – Kids have opportunities to reach out to the world by showing God’s love in practical ways.
During all weekend services at every Southpoint campus, kids in 5th grade and younger can enjoy specially designed programs in a fun, secure, loving environment. (Learn more about those below.) Outside the service times, we have many more resources to help your family grow together, like the monthly Family Focus page!
Our computer check-in system allows for safe and secure pick up of your child. It also allows us to page you to inform you if your child needs you during service. Every Kids Min worker has had a background check and training. Our trained Security Team is always on patrol in the facility providing yet another safeguard. If you’re attending Southpoint for the first time, please arrive about ten minutes prior to the service to register your kids so they don’t miss any of the fun!
In our Nursery, newborns and toddlers are gently cared for by loving adults and youth in a clean, quality environment, while parents attend worship. Preschool children discover biblical truths through songs, stories and play. Memory verses and Bible stories teach them how to live for Jesus everyday.
After energetic worship, kids meet in grade level groups to learn about the Bible at their level. Through activities, opening up God’s Word, discussions and games, kids learn to apply what they learn to their everyday lives.
After starting with large group worship in the main room, these kids have their own fun place to build relationships with one another and with God. Studying God’s Word in interactive ways lays the foundation for kids at this age to make a decision to follow Jesus daily.
For children and teens with special needs, we have two separate classes at the Trenton campus to better suit their individual needs. Bible-based teaching and fun activities are provided in a safe and loving environment, led by experienced teachers.
We also provide a “Kids Joining God’s Family” class periodically where kids ages 8 and over can learn about what it means to become a Christian.Throughout the year we hold large fun family events as well! Kids may also choose to go to Wolverine Christian Service Camp in Columbiaville, MI.
If you would like to be involved and inspire the next generation towards the love God has for them, jump on in! The water’s fine!
